About SHUVAM ART & CRAFT
SHUVAM ART & CRAFT PRODUCER COMPANY LTD., under the brand BAYAN GHAR, is rooted in the rich handloom tradition of Nuapatna, Odisha.
Our work is centred on handloom weaving, product development and marketing, with a focus on creating continuous employment opportunities for weavers.
We produce and promote qualitative Silk & Cotton Ikat handloom products, including sarees, Khandua Pata, dress materials, yardage, dupattas and fashionable stoles.
Alongside production and marketing, the organisation also works towards the welfare of weavers through activities such as insurance and other support initiatives.

800+ Years of Weaving Heritage
Nuapatna is an important handloom centre of Odisha, known for its rich tradition of Ikat and Khandua weaving.
The art of weaving in Nuapatna is more than 800 years old and has a historic connection with the temple of Lord Jagannath at Puri. Some weavers of Nuapatna have traditionally woven clothes for the Lord, continuing a practice passed down through generations.
The region is known for traditional products including Silk Khandua sarees, Geeta Govinda Khandua, Tara Bali, Naba Kothari, Kunjifulla and Deepali, along with Tassar sarees and blended fabrics.
The Art Behind Every Weave
More Than a Textile. A Living Tradition.
Odisha's handwoven fabrics are enriched with traditional motifs inspired by flowers, wheels, fish, elephants, lions, Rudraksha, conch shells and religious symbols.
The weaving traditions range from intricate double Ikat (Tie & Dye) to traditional single Ikat motifs, extra warp and extra weft designs, fine-count cotton sarees and Tassar textiles.
The knowledge and skills passed from one generation to another have given Odisha's handwoven textiles their distinctive depth, range and character.

Behind every BAYAN GHAR creation are skilled weavers whose knowledge and craftsmanship have been carried across generations.
The Nuapatna area includes thousands of weaver households and handlooms. However, changing consumer preferences and competition from machine-made textiles have created challenges for traditional weaving communities.
BAYAN GHAR works towards strengthening the handloom ecosystem and creating opportunities that encourage the younger generation to continue this heritage profession.

NABARD Supported Initiative
Building a Stronger Handloom Community
With financial support of ₹49.16 Lakhs from NABARD, Odisha RO Bhubaneswar, a three-year project is being implemented through SHUVAM ART & CRAFT PRODUCER COMPANY LTD.
Under the project, an OFPO has been formed and 350 weavers have been enrolled. The initiative supports the development, production and marketing of handloom products and aims to strengthen opportunities for the weaving community.
